Final report

The achievements of the research programme are demonstrated by a great number of original scientific articles (43 papers), independent contributions in scientific books (14 contributions), and numerous published scientific conference papers and technical documents of EU projects. On the basis of outstanding research results in the last five years we were invited to several European project consortia. We participated to three bilateral international projects, six COST actions, three Copernicus projects and four 5FP IST projects and four other EU projects. At the end of the research programme we successfully passed the negotiation phases of two 6FP IST projects. We could state that we have obtained high quality research results in the design of new adaptive routing algorithms in packet-oriented connectionless non-geostationary satellite networks. We introduced new packet forwarding policy and new routing strategies taking into account the variation of network topology and traffic load and various types of services. We achieved remarkable results in the field of radio transmission with the design of new power and bandwidth efficient techniques enabling variable bit rate considering the state of the radio channel. We developed effective model of nonlinear radio channel and find new adaptive algorithms for space-time coding and multiplexing for multi-antenna MIMO systems.
