The research program contained key elements for successful integration of Slovene agriculture into EU agricultural sector, such as: - development of sustainable plant production techniques regarding ecological and production diversity in Slovene circumstances, - exploring the appropriate marketing approaches in enlarged EU markets, - examining the possibilities for sustainable management of renewable natural resources and the preservation of biodiversity, - contribution to the socio-economic viability of many rural areas, - establishing the scientific and technological foundations for adapting Slovene production to the new demands in European markets, - applied researches in the field of agricultural economics, econometric modeling and quantitative analysis of crop production, - contribution to the sustainable rural development and maintainance the socio-economic status of Slovene farms - exploring the multifunctional role of Slovene agriculture.
