1.
Caracterization of the point spread function and deconvolution for hyperspectral imaging

This PhD thesis is concerned with characterization and calibration of hyperspectral imaging systems and restoration of hyperspectral images. The proposed innovative experimental settings and novel methods are suitable for laboratory and industrial use and based on widely available calibration targets. The proposed experimental settings and methods are thoroughly evaluated across different hyperspectral imaging systems and enable repeatable acquisition of high fidelity hyperspectral images.

Estimation of optical properties of biological tissues by hyperspectral imaging

This PhD thesis is concerned with estimation of optical properties of turbid samples such as biological tissues from hyperspectral images. The thesis introduces a novel hyperspectral imaging system for efficient illumination and imaging of the backscattered light, evaluates the influence of the experimental setting on the simulation of reflectance by the Monte Carlo Method, and introduces a new inverse model for a more detailed and accurate characterization of scattering.

Laboratory visible and short wavelength infrared hyperspectral imaging system

We have developed a prototype laboratory hyperspectral imaging system operating across the visible and short wavelength infrared spectral range.

4.
A program library for calibration and restoration of hyperspectral images

We have developed a program library for characterization and calibration of spectroscopic and hyperspectral imaging systems and restoration of hyperspectral images. The library is compatible with spectra and hyperspectral images acquired by various imaging systems and supports different calibration targets. The library also provides an intuitive graphical user interface that helps users with limited experience in the field of characterization, calibration and restoration of hyperspectral images.

Design of a compact multispectral oral cavity screening system

We have designed a prototype multispectral system for screening the oral cavity. The screening system integrates different illumination setups and allows acquisition of images at the selected wavelengths.
