Molecular evolution of protein domains for the binding to the surface of cells

Doctoral student Tea Lenarčič was involved in studying NLP proteins at the structural level. She was the first author of a Science paper and she was awarded L'Oreal prize for the women in science 2018.

Mechanism of membrane interactions of Nep1-like proteins

We have presented current understanding of NLP protein mechanism of action in a plenary invited lecture. The discovery of the molecule responsible for NLP proteins interaction with lipid membranes had a great impact and was pomoted during many presentations at the congresses in Slovenia and abroad, such as at the regional biophysical conference in Zreče.
