The chapter describes main detection methods for phytoplasmas (e.g. biological tests, microscopy techniques, and immunological and molecular approaches), along with their advantages and disadvantages. In addition, the procedures for their validation are included. The chapter is part of the book edited by the project team and is written by Slovenian and Austrian project members.
