Inovation and development for increased growth - Industry 4.0

In 2016 our porgram group initiated a new program "Building Blocks, Tools and Systems for Factories of the Future", which was accepted as part of Smart specialization strategy of Slovenia. The program consista of a number of industrial and research partners. Its aim is to accelerate the development of the Factories of the Future concept in Slovenia and to provide solutions to the current needs of Slovene industry. The member of our program group doc. dr. Igor Kovač is the coordinator of this program, while prof. dr. Aleš Ude is the leader of the pillar "Robotics" within the program.

Horizons of modern robotics

Together with the Faculty of electrical engineering we organized the European Robotics Forum (http://www.erf2016.eu/), which took place in Ljubljana from March 21st - 23rd, 2016. This is the most important event in the field of robotics in Europe, providing the opportunity for the representatives from industry, research community, and European commission to meet and exhcange ideas.

Researchers with large-scale Horizon 2020 projects

In years 2015 and 2016 the members of our program group acquired 5 new Horizon 2020 projects, which makes our group among the most sucessful groups in Slovenia in terms of H2020 projects. Moreover, the members of the group prof. dr. Aleš Ude and doc. dr. Jan Babič coordinate two of these projects.

Fiziologijca in farmakologija temperaturne regulacije 2016

Proceedings of the international conference organised by the head of the research programme group (prof. Igor Mekjavic). The meetng was attended by 160 delegates from 30 countries. The key speaker for the meeting was the EU Commissioner for Transportation, Mrs. Violeta Bulc.

How we heat up and what it means for business

Tha article focusses on the EU H2020:heat Shield project. The aim of the project is to mitigate the effects of global warming-induced heat waves on EU workers in 5 key industries. The interview provides information on how productivity will be affect in these industries, if measures are not initiated to protect the workers from the heat stress during the heat waves.
