Manual for learning and playing in the forest contains interesting ideas, tips and games as well as information about the forest itself and what it can offer to people and how to properly treat it. The manual is designed for all who want to present forest to children in an interesting and playful way. In the chapter Genetic variability, topics such as Life cycle of a tree, What is genetic variability, Phenological observations in spring and autumn, DNA isolation, Autumn pictures – visualization of genetic diversity, etc. are presented in four "levels": awake enthusiasm, focus attention, direct experience and sharing of inspiration.

COBISS.SI-ID: 287432704Lucanus is a remotely controlled mechanical arm composed of several modules that can be attached to UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) and serves as a solution for tree canopy sampling. Lucanus was devised in cooperation between the Department of forest physiology and genetics of the Slovenian Forestry Institute (SFI) and Institute 404 as a part of the EUFORINNO project. The implemented solutions were applied for patent by the inventors from both SFI and Institute 404. The national patent was granted on 30. 9. 2016 under patent nr. SI 24941 by The Slovenian Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) which is an autonomous body within the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology. Solution is currently also patent pending in European Patent Office (application no. EP16150006.1).
