Genetic diversity and Atlantic brown trout in Slovenia

The role of genetic diversity as a basic measure for assessing evolutionary potential of species and populations was discussed with special emphasis on local genetically pure brown trout, studied in this project. The impact of introduced Atlantic hatchery-reared populations on Slovenian native brown trout populations was also discussed.

Presentation of the results of the project and bases for managing the brown trout in the direction of its rehabilitation

The seminar was organised for brown trout managers in order to present them the results of the project and to introduce them into the principles of genetic management using the studied brown trout as an example.
