Sharka, caused by Plum pox virus (PPV), its presence in Slovenia and the possibilities to replace a local biotype of a very susceptible plum cultivar Domača češplja with resistant, tolerant and hypersensitive plum varieties were presented. Possibilities for cooperation in plum cultivation revival in Brkini region were also given.
