Eveything counts (in small amounts)...

Exhibition Everything counts (in small amounts)… presented the archaeological finds from the territory of Ptuj dating from the end of Early Iron Age to the Romanization. For the first time were presented finds demonstrating the last contacts with the Pre-Alpine territory of the Early Iron Age and the first traces of material culture that could be linked with the Celts. The focus of the exhibition was oriented towards the presentation of decorated weapons from cemeteries in Formin and Srednica. For the first time were presented finds of oldest roman weapons from Ptujski grad. The exhibition was visited by more than 7.000 visitors.

Places of Contact

Exhibition Places of Contact was designated for the presentation of long distance contacts between cultural centers in younger prehistory. For the illustration of these contacts were presented 5 finds of extraordinary cultural and historical importance from the territory of Ptuj. The fibulae from Mali grad and Panorama demonstrated the contacts in the 5th and 4th century BC with the West, while the potters from Ptujski grad and the sword from Srednica demonstrated as the indication of the arrival of the Eastern Celts. The Gnathian skyphos from canusian workshops, which was allegedly discovered in Starše on Dravsko polje, illustrates the contacts in the 4th century BC with the Mediterranean cultural centers.

Exhibition Places of Contact was designated for the presentation of long distance contacts between cultural centers in younger prehistory. For the illustration of these contacts were selected 5 finds of extraordinary cultural and artistic importance from Osor. Presented were items of jewelry from the Iron Age demonstrating the trans-Adriatic as well as contacts with the hinterlands. The exhibition was presented in August during the most busy tourist season in Pula.
