Tourism in the hands of the totalitarian systems.

The paper discusses the interests of the fascist’s political system in the management or control of tourist activity for its own benefit – as a tool for an efficient promotion and expansion of their ideas through the “use” of tourism. The contribution theme is within the context of research of places of memory WW1 and the political activity of Italy in the new provinces.

The shaping of the memory landscape in the Interwar period.

The project leader has co-organized a workshop in cooperation with the Croatian Academy of Science on comparative aspects of the changing of the mnemonic landscape in the Northern Adriatic when the region was part of the Kingdom of Italy. He presented a paper to analyze the shaping of the space by the Fascist authorities in trieste and in the Littoral but also in Istria and in Rijeka.
