1.
Soluble phosphatidylserine binds to two sites on human Factor IXa in a Ca[sup](2+) dependent fashion to specifically regulate structure and activity

Using global analysis of experimental data we have found that phosphatidylserine molecule is the key regulator of both proteases - factor IXa as well as factor Xa.

Ca[sup](2+) switches the effect of ps-containing membranes on factor Xa from activating to inhibiting

We studied the activity of an enzyme factor Xa and found that the regulation of the activity of Factor Xa depends critically on the concentration of calcium in the plasma and that this process is likely to be physiologically important in the initial stage of blood clotting.
