Manipulation of particles by laser tweezers-induced gradient of order in the nematic liquid crystal

Manipulation of particles by laser tweezers-induced gradient of order in the nematic liquid crystal (LC) was presented. A focused IR laser beam is absorbed on a LC surface which causes a change in the nematc order of LC due to the increased temperature. As a result there is net force acting on dipolar particles.
