Patents on different aspects of bioreactors

Mixing reactor with a rigid clamping of the bio-reactor bag on the surroundings - We developed a single use bioreactor with unique technical solutions for bag clamping and broth mixing. Bioreactor is intended for cultivation of bacterial cultures. Solutions built into the bioreactor are used also in artificial gut system. Bioreactors for continuous production of bacteriophages - Patent includes technique for continuous cultivation of bacteriophages.

Fecal microbiota community structure after in vitro growth in spent medium from C. difficile

This poster describes analysis of changes in fecal microbiota after in vitro growth in C. difficile conditioned medium. Several strains belonging to different ribotypes were used. Results suggest possible influence of C. difficile on gut microbiota. Poster received ASM Best Poster Award.

Published invited lectures at national conferences

Modulation of gut microbiota - why, how, when? - In this lecture we have reviewed the current trends and possibilities in therapeutic gut microbiota modulations. Gut microbiota in elderly - In this published invited lecture we describe general properties of gut microbiota in elderly population and give the overview of research. Part of results obtained in this research programme were presented in the lacture. Different approaches to study interactions of gut microbiota and Clostridium difficile - This invited lecture given at national meeting of Section for clinical microbiology and HIA has presented overview of the field and results of our studies on the role of gut microbiota and C. difficile infection.
