CIPKeBiP was realized researchers' vision to establish the research environment for exploring life processes at the molecular level and their exploitation for the development purposes. This was achieved by purchasing the state of the art equipment, by introducing of the modern technologies and by development of competitive skills. We have established five infrastructure platforms: for the light microscopy, the mass spectroscopy, the variety of biochemical analysis, the structural analysis of the macromolecules by the X-ray diffraction and IT approaches. We highlight the following publications Extremophilic microbes in dishwashers: N.Gunde-Cimerman; Nanoparticles as delivery systems for drugs: B.Turk; Infection by Clostridium difficile: M.Rupnik. Center was and still is coordinated by Dusan Turk as scientific direktor.
D.01 Chairing over/coordinating (international and national) projects
The invention provides a modified DNA sequence for the in vitro expression of a recombinant protease from Aeropyrum pernix K1, pernisine, in a heterologous expression system. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method of preparing the subtilisin-like protease by use of the recombinant DNA techniques.
F.05 Ability to launch new technological development cycle
COBISS.SI-ID: 4484984In the Chapter with the title Structural elucidation the approaches of the structural elucidation were presented based on spectra (different kind of spectroscopic technics: mass, NMR) by using databases, expert systems and modelling technics. The solving of some structural elucidation problems was demonstrated by using an expert system for structural elucidation CARBON.
