Opportunities arising from the genome sequencing of four Aureobasidium varieties

The project leader collaborated in the analysis of the genomic and transcriptomic sequences of four varieties of the halotolerant yeast A. pullulans (var. pullulans, melanogenum, subglaciale, namibiae). Slovenian researchers had a leading role in the sequencing project. At the here described congress the project leader had a lecture presenting the opportunities arising from the genome sequencing of these organisms in biotechnology, agriculture and medicine. In 2014 the project leader was a co-author of six additional reports at various scientific meetings (at which he had one additional lecture and one poster presentation). Additionally, he gave a public lecture titled »Fungi of extreme environments: adaptations, hazards, use« [COBISS.SI-ID 3262799]. In 2014 the project leader published two papers in journals of national importance, gave an interview at the national radio station and co-authored a letter published in Science – all of this focused on the conditions and relations in science [COBISS.SI-ID 3107151, 3233359, 3061327, 3125583]. He also reviewed a textbook for elementary schools [COBISS.SI-ID 273981696].
