The project leader was involved in the common research together with South African partners. During the research, molecular and morphological characterisation of isolates, isolated from diseased hop hornbeams in Slovenia and Italy, was conducted. The isolates were also placed into the phylogenetic system. New associations between hosts and Dothiorella species are reported. This research also intertwined with the postdoctoral project, especially regarding phylogenetic methodology.
