LVG Diagnostic protocol: rusts (Pucciniales) - molecular analyses

Diagnostic protocol for molecular identification of samples with rust (Pucciniales) infections is presented in details and is used in routine diagnostics.

F.21 Development of new health/diagnostic methods/procedures

3.
Quarantine rusts (Pucciniales) dangerous to woody plants

Rusts, especially those listed on quarantine lists, were presented to foresters (Slovenia Forest Service) at 5th Seminar and Workshop for forest protection (18th June 2014, Mašun). Special emphasis was on symptoms of rust infections together with current distribution of quarantine rusts and EU-legislation. The importance of accurate identification of rusts was stressed, since the implementation of quarantine actions is based on accurate identifications.

Rust survey on trees in Slovenia (Melampsora, Melampsoridium)

Preliminary results regarding variability of Melamspora and Melampsoridium species in Slovenia were presented at the yearly international gathering of European Mycological Network.

Multiplatform tool "Measure features!" for evaluation of morphological parameters of (electron) micrographs

This is simple Python3 tool to analyze (electron) micrographs. The development was initiated after realisation that simple and simply extendable tool for work with rust (Pucciniales) electron micrographies is needed. Tool allows measuring of various qualities and quantities, like density of thorns, surface area on the image, lengths.
