CATALYST AND THE PROCESS FOR CONVERTING GAS MIXTURES OF METHANE AND CARBON DIOXIDE INTO SYNGAS

This european patent application covers synthesis conditions and chemical composition of transition metal catalysts that are capable of selectively converting a wide range of model biogas compositions into syngas without coke accumulation. This is important for commercialization of our knowledge and bridging the gap between academia and industry. We are currently very active in the commercialization of this invention.

The interview, shown at rtvslo.si was a consequence of obtaining a prestigeous Emerging Technologies award a couple of weeks before. In the interview, dr. Gasan Osojnik and dr. Petar Djinović described their invention and its importance on the global scale.

CeO2-ZrO2 supported NiCo bimetallic catalyst for CH4-CO2 reforming without carbonaceous deposits

In this presentation, the guidelines for design and synthesis of active and stable transition metal catalysts for methane-CO2 reforming reaction were presented. The second part of the presentation was focused on the versatility of developed catylsts by exposing them to a feed stream with a variable methane/CO2 ratio, as is usual for biogas, a renewable energy source. The third part of presentation was dedicated to showing the results of high pressure reforming performance (20 bar. T= 750C) which is the usual case in industrial level reformers.
