Ravnik was awarded the Honorary award for best junior university professors by the University of Ljubljana (December 2014). This award is a recognition to a young professor (up to age of 35), which covers all fields of science, and indicates junior professors at the university with highest-calibre research potential and top-level teaching skills.

Ravnik was invited speaker and session chair at the conference Photonics West, Emerging Liquid Crystal Technologies IX, February 5th 2014, San Francisco, USA which is one of the largest and most resonant conferences in the world on the topic of photonics with order of magnitude 20k participants.
