Effect of dietary net energy content on performance and lipid deposition in immunocastrated pigs

First/preliminary report of results on experiment dealing with net energy restriction in the diet of immunocastrated pigs. Results show, that fat deposition was limited without affecting growth performance.

Supplementing pig diet with hydrolysable tannins: effect on performance and level of androstenone and skatole in boars

First results of the experiment were presented and show that the inclusion of tannins (hydrolysable, HT) affects the fattening properties (reduced intake) only at the highest concentration (3%). We observed an increase of parotid gland, in regard to skatole metabolism, the impact is unclear, the lowest concentration of HT increased, followed by reduced skatole concentrations.
