An overview of communication protocols and control systems for cooling systems has been made. The author made system analysis and possibilities for energy optimisation based on some measurements. The optimisation of defrosting schedule was made by genetic algorithms.

Open-source solutions for automatic inspection and control of buildings

The thesis presents a detailed architecture and implementation of a system for automatic control and supervision of buildings. The system enables integration of state-of-the-art protocols for control devices and "off-the-shelf" hardware. The system concept is based on wired and wireless communication and its main advantages are low power consumption and ability for further development.

Analysis of electrical energy consumption displays for the purpose of intelligent home system upgrade

The thesis deals with displays for power consumption, which are operating with smart meters. The displays enable end-users to reduce energy costs. The thesis describes the technology, analyse potential savings and performs market research in Slovenia. It also assesses and compares some products from selected providers.
