"At four o'clock after the sermon in vicariatum". Sermon as the spiritual context of the Škofja Loka Passion Play

The author researched the recently discovered manuscript volume of sermons, written by the Capuchin father Ferdinandus Labacensis (cca. 1682–1744). Among them, the sermon which is dated in Škofja Loka on Good Friday 1722 is of eminent cultural and literary value. It is exactly the sermon after which the father Romuald's Passion Play has taken place in Škofja Loka in 1722. The author has outlined how the thematic components of this sermon surround the Passion Play as the basic interpretive framework of the play's original religious meaning.

Sebastijan Pogačar: A new name among Baroque poets in Slovenia

The paper presents the 18th century Slovenian priest Sebastijan Pogačar, completely unknown until now, as a poet and author of numerous chronograms. Pogačar's poetic chronograms, written in registry books, dealt with current political (e.g., wars against the Turks), religious (e.g., veneration of Mother of God) and spiritual topics (e.g., transitoriness of things). The paper describes Pogačar's role in Baroque culture and literature in Slovenia.
