Transforming audiences and journalism without journalists

In the keynote speech the author uses the audience concept as a starting point to discuss the troubles of journalism as societal institution, cultural practice, and labour in the internet age. The author argues that the field of journalism is comprised of spheres of interest, institutional arrangements, professional identities, technological affordances, and sets of practices.
