Clonostachys (Bionectriaceae, Hypocreales) accomodates mycoparasites, endophytes, pest parasites, soil saprotrophs and, rarely, plant pathogens. The genus is structured in several subgenera distinguished from each other on the bases of teleomorph and anamorph characters. So far, mainly holomorphic species have been recognized in Clonostachys but many taxa obtained as anamorphs or members of currently unresolved species complexes await their description. The presentation provided an overview on the diversity of Clonostachys species isolated mainly from soil from Brazil including the Amazon Forest, Atlantic Rainforest, and the Cerrado savanna.
