Test of the Hamamatsu MPPC module S11834 as a RICH photon detector

A detektorski module comprized of a novel light sensor matrix and pyramidal light concentrators, was tested on the bench as well as in an electron beam at DESY (Hamburg). with a narrow time window (6 ns) and a light concentration factor of about 2 we achieved an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The results look promissing for the next generation of RICH detectors.
