Blood and milk

The image presented in the church of Sv. Primož in Črna close to Kamnik in Slovenia, which was formed in 1504, at the end of the Middle Ages and at the dawn of the Renaissance in Central Europe, reflects well the transition between the two fantastical worlds and their artistic expression.

Between contact and imitation: Introductory.

Introduction to the methodology of Georges Didi-Huberman. Didi-Huberman is convinced that it is necessary to go beyond traditional epistemological field of art history and go in the direction of visual anthropology, which treats equally all kinds of images not only art images. From a variety of sources and models "created" Didi-Huberman’s method, which freely, open and sensitively wanders through space and time, constantly proves what is the main theme in this book, namely that the traditional art historiography in the name of objectification only distorted the history of art.

Ancient women's cults and rituals in grand narratives on screen

More than a century ago, filmmakers made their primary focus innovative and widely promulgated visions of antiquity, creating a profound effect on the critical, popular, and scholarly reception of antiquity. In this volume, scholars from a variety of countries and varying academic disciplines have addressed film’s way of using the field of Classical Reception to investigate, contemplate, and develop hypotheses about present-day culture, society, and politics, with a particular emphasis on gender and gender roles, their relationship to one another, and how filmic constructions of masculinity and femininity shape and are shaped by interacting economic, political, and ideological practices.

Cabbage and sexuality

Zgodovina naracij o zelju razkriva ideološke scenarije, vpisane v kultne prakse, prenos cenzur v karnevalsko področje (kjer izginejo), fantazme povezovanja hrane in spolne in/ali etnične identitete.
