Loss of offsite power and power system reliability

Reliability of electric power system in the vicinity of nuclear power plant Krško is evaluated. The evaluation is based on series of improvements, which have been made to the system in the last years including switchyard refurbishment and new power lines, e.g. 400 kV line Beričevo Krško.

Hybrid reactive power compensator

Dissertation focuses on the power factor correction devices with special attention to the compensators for harmonics filtering. Original contributions of the dissertation are in the areas of hybrid active filter topologies and advanced control algorithms. The main contribution is a new hybrid filter topology and modified proportional-resonant controller. All proposed solutions are presented on a real industrial network model and verified by means of digital simulation and real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulations with an external hardware controller in the loop. The supervisor is prof. dr. Igor Papič.
