The purpose of the research in this field is the production of disks and slugs with better mechanical properties. The main objective was development of alloys for the manufacture of pressurized cans, which will results in better mechanical properties of final product by maintaining the existing process chain. We have developed an Al-Mn alloy, which have higher yield strength and elongation.

COBISS.SI-ID: 281146112Nowadays many of companies are founded in order to develop and produce reference etalons for metal manufacturing. Research work is present one way of producing reference etalon by gravity casting in permanent molds with unidirectional solidification of crystals in vertical direction. Samples for investigations were taken from casting on place near interface between casting and cooled coper die. Samples were metallographically and chemically analyzed. It was found that samples, which were casted on a liquid nitrogen cooled coper plate, had more homogenous microstructure and were appropriate for further use and application.
