The main topic of the 42nd Land Surveying day in 2014 was Land rearrangement as a challenge for geodetic engineering. In the introduction of the proceedings of reviewed papers, a short article is published with the title Challenges in the field of land rearrangements. In the continuations, papers of eminent invited speakers from Austria and Germany are published, where current situation and challenges in the field of land rearrangement are presented. Presentations of foreign experiences are followed by reviewed papers of Slovenian authors, where activities and different aspects of public institutions are presented in the sub-fields of land rearrangements. In the final part of the proceedings, experiences from the Slovenian practice are presented, also as reviewed papers.
