"ISO-FOOD" ERA chair isotope techniques in food quality, safety and traceability

New EU project Era Chair ISO-FOOD: Isotope Techniques in Food Quality, Safety and Traceability (2014-2019) was approved. ISO-FOOD will enable the fusion of multidisciplinary knowledge and ideas for target-oriented research on three Pillar themes (Food authenticity, Food traceability and Food Safety) and two Horizontal themes (Metrological support and Knowledge repository). I ack as a leader of Work Package 3: Research & Education. Further I was a coordinator of the following projects related to the proposed research study: International IAEA project: CRP - Accessible Technologies for the Verification of Origin of Dairy Products as an Example Control System to Enhance Global Trade and Food Safety, IAEA - The use of stable isotopes and elemental composition for determination of authenticity and geographical origin of milk and dairy products (2013-2017) Slovenian-Austrian cooperation: Application of advanced methods in determination of geographic origin of wine: comparison of Austrian and Slovenian wine (2011-2012).

The use of specific methods for determination and prevention of milk and dairy products

Food studies performed in Jožef Stefan Institute were presented at: 45. Mednarodnem obrtnem sejmu - MOS, ki je potekal od 12.9.-18.9.2012 v Celju. The results of our work was presented to two dairy industry: Pomurske mlekarne (December 2012) and Mlekarna Celeia (December 2013) OGRINC, Nives. The use of specific methods for determination and prevention of adulteration of milk and dairy products: invited talk. Celje: Mlekarna Celea, 11. dec. 2013. [COBISS.SI-ID 27309351] At the end of the project "The use of specific methods for determination and prevention of adulteration of milk and dairy products" we organized a workshop where project results and main research findings were presented. The workshop was held on June 12th 2014 at the Biotechnical Faculty. Over 50 participants from various research fields and stakeholders from Ministries and other governmental organizations attended the workshop.
