Report on the results of the program of professional tasks from the field of plant protection in 2012

The report on the results of profesional tasks is consisted from the following topics: 1) control of white grubs in the municipalities Idrija and Logatec; 2) research on efficacy of fungus Beauveria bassiana and its susceptibility to pesticides; 3) collaboration in Slovenian and international commissions and participation in conferences from the field of biological control; 4) research on parasitoids with special emphasis on the control of tomato leaf miner in Slovenia; 5) research on parasitic nematodes of slugs and snails in Slovenia; 6) control of cereal leaf beetle with entomopathogenic nematodes, and 7) special monitoring of chestnut gall wasp.

Workshop Environmentally acceptable and environmentally adapted technologies of field crops and grassland production in Slovenia, Ljubljana, May 09 2012, TRDAN, Stanislav (ed.). Abstract volume.

At the workshop, which was organized at the Biotechnical Faculty, 35 participants from agricultural extension service participated. From 8 lectures at the workshop 2 of them (COBISS.SI-ID 7104889, COBISS.SI-ID 7105401) were directly connected with the content of the project.

Distribution of entomopathogenic nematodes (Nematoda: Rhabditida) in Slovenia and their interactions in environment

Since 1997 S. Trdan collaborates in pedagogical work at the chair. In the beginning he was the leader of laboratory exercises from phytomedicine subjects, and since 2008 he is an individual or co-lecturer of courses from the field of entomology. Until now he was a supervisor to more than 80 undergraduate students. Under his supervision in the period 2011-2014 6 candidates finished doctoral dissertation, and 4 times he was a supervisor for master's theses. 4 times he was a reviewer of study material from the fields of entomology, nematology and vegetable production. In his pedagogical work he gives special attention to environmentally acceptable control measures.

Laboratory investigation on efficacy of different entomopathogenic nematodes species (Nematoda: Rhabditida) against wireworms (Coleoptera, Elateridae)
