Device for measuring the specific heat coefficient thermal conductivity with air temperature control at interfaces

Physics student Nejc Duh under the co-supervision of Prof. Zidanšek and supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Repnik designed and manufactured a device, in which the impact of radiation and convection is negligible. The device consists of two separate air chambers with the test object between them. The temperatures of the chambers are regulated via water filled copper coils. Thermal conductivity is determined from the measured mass fluxes of water, difference between the temperature of water flowing into the chamber and water flowing out of the chamber and difference between the air temperature in chamber with high temperature and chamber with low temperature.
