Importance of biospeleological research for protection of cave fauna and their habitats - example based on the project karst underground protection on the Istrian peninsula

On the project Karst Underground Protection, as an example, we showed the importance of speleobiological researches to improve a knowledge of subterranean biodiversity, different subterranean habitat types and their ecological characteristics, which are the basis for the protection and conservation of subterranean biodiversity.
