1.
Absorption of microwave power in nitrogen plasma at moderately low pressure

A minor activity performed just after kick off was optimization of coupling between MW generator and nitrogen plasma. The results of optimization were encouraging so we prepared a scientific paper. Coupling was explained by collision phenomena in ionized gases and resonant oscillation of free electrons in plasma at moderate pressure.

Interaction of oxygen species With graphene and pyrolytic-graphite surfaces

Preliminary results on interaction of oxygen plasma with multilayer grafene structures showed inhomogeneous etching which results in improved biocompatibility of such a material. A letter was prepared and published in this specialized journal in late 2011.
