In this study a meta-analytical approach was used to estimate the effects of pre-exercise static stretching on strength, power, and explosive muscular performance. Negative effects of static stretching were observed and were not related to subject's age, gender, or fitness level. The effects were more pronounced in isometric vs dynamic tests, and were related to the total duration of stretch. We conclude that the usage of static stretching as the sole activity during warm-up routine should generally be avoided.

In 2012 we published a validation study of a new measuring method for estimation of skeletal muscle composition. In this manuscript we published a between -day reliability study. We found that reliability is high enough to use proposed method in different days as a ground for longitudinal studies.
