Editor at international scientific journals: (1) ANNALES KINESIOLOGIAE + (2) Homo sporticus in (3) Montenegrin Journal of Sports Science and Medicine.

Journal “Annales Kinesiologiae” focuses on publishing scientific and research findings of the interdisciplinary and integrative fields of kinesiology and related nature science and social sciences. Articles discuss various issues and topics, directed towards the study of the human organism, its movement and its response in the frame of motor effectiveness in specific environments. The purpose of this publication and the fundamental aspects of the journal's content base on studying and dealing with the field of kinesiology with the aim to achieve a better quality of life. With the help of researches and studies, presented in the journal, as well as acquired results and scientific findings and arguments, we wish to promote interdisciplinary, integrative and most of all the applicable aspects of researching kinesiology, as well as to promote the applicable value of kinesiology research and results in practice. The journal will be published regularly twice per year, in June and December, in 250 issues. All papers are published in English; an abstract of the journal shall also be published in Slovene.

Chronic lower back pain

The paper gives an overview of the lower back pain as one of the most common neuro-musculo-skeletal health problems in developed countries. It is presented as a multi-layer health issue which affects people of different age, gender, profession, level of physical activity, etc. The most attention is spent on the neuro-muscular function as the underlying mechanism for lower back pain development. A review of the research on the fields of changed motor control in patients suffering from lower back pain is presented as a foundation for understanding the modern functional diagnostic approaches and selection of exercises for prevention and rehabilitation of the lower back pain.

Automatic trunk muscles` activation patterns evoked by different sudden mechanical perturbations

Neuromuscular control is responsible for maintaining upright posture in case of mechanical perturbations applied to the body. Under such conditions, trunk stability is ensured by temporally and spatially coordinated muscle responses. Anticipatory postural adjustments to voluntary movement as well as compensatory postural reactions to unexpected external perturbations can be modified in people with low back pain. Measuring these changes seems to have an important role in the evaluation of trunk postural functions. It is therefore important to use this approach to objectively assess intervention effects in people with low back pain problems. Current methodological findings promise possible simplification of the related testing routines, which shall result in implementation to daily clinical routine.
