Plasma grown nanowires for improved renwable energy harvesting

The original method for synthesis of nanowires with plasma was demonstrated. The plasma synthesized nanowires have advanced properties then thermally grown. They enable better operation of regenerative close-loop solar cells in which we split water molecules and produce electrical energy.

Conversion of nanowires with plasma

We presented systems of nanowire conversion into different crystal structures. The metal oxide nanowire conversion was demonstrated with oxygen reduction mechanisms through electron irradiation, replacement with nitrogen atoms and sulfide atoms. In this way we got reduced oxygen metal oxide, nitride and sulfide NWs.

Nanoporous nanowires

In invited lecture, we presented new innovative method for modification of band gap energy in nanowires with reduction of oxygen atoms during irradiation with electron beam.
