COBISS.SI-ID: 276357632Modern health systems that want to maintain the quality of the work and follow the modern trends and provisions in healthcare despite the financial pressures are introducing clinical pathways in the healthcare process. Modern tools assisted by cloud services bring standardized framework in which users can build their own electronic clinical pathways. An overview of cloud tools and good practice examples, that can help modeling and analysis of clinical processes, econometric analysis, and monitoring of performance indicators and quality, are presented.
F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 16769625Healthcare is known to be dangerous to patients. Of the 421 million hospitalisations in the world annually, 42.7 million are estimated to be associated with some degree of adverse event or unsafe care. Healthcare providers and policy makers are seeking to change this and the evidence shows that change is possible. Other safety critical sectors have been more successful at reducing harm by using risk based approaches. In healthcare there is evidence that the use of system level methods to assess and manage risk improves quality. For example, the recent MARQuIS study found that these hospitals [i.e. hospitals that can demonstrate effective risk management] “have either ISO certification or accreditation are safer and better than those which have neither”.
