FT-Raman analysis of historical cellulosic fibres infected by fungi

Preliminay results of the analysis of historical cellulosic textile fibres with FT-Raman were presented at an international conference. The results showed that the method allows analysis of the structure of historical cellulosic textile fibres only to a limited extent. When the most severely deteriorated samples were investigated, the luminescent background was still too strong to compare the spectra and the structure of the fibres.

Mycological analysis of air and thumb sampling in lapidarium of Dominican monastery

In the scope of the reconstruction work in Dominican monastery in Ptuj, a tomb with a coffin, covered by a textile, was uncovered, presumably originating in 17th century. The fabric as well as the stone of the tomb became visibly moulded in a short time. In this study, we isolated and identified moulds and delivered an opinion on the possible biodeterioration potential of isolated species to textile, stone and metals.
