The international Symposium on Sleep Disorders was a continuation of a series of the traditional annual symposia organised by the Institute of Clinical Neurophysiology and Slovenian Section of Clinical Neurophysiology. Somnology - as a medical practice and reasearch - was brought into Slovenia only a few years ago. The Symposium provided the domestic and foreign audience with a systematic review of the field, and was also a good opportunity for a start of multidisciplinary co-operation in the country as well as internationally.
