Several members of project team have participated in organization of 5th Congress of the Slovenian Microbiological Society (M. Rupnik – president; M. Ocepek, M. Ravnikar – member of Organizing Committee, S. Janežič, S. Beigot - local organization). Congress is held every three years and is the principal event where achievements on the field of microbiology in Slovenia are presented. 5th Congress was organized together with two other meetings and has therefore contributed to better international recognition and to improved collaboration between microbiologist and biochemists in Slovenia.

A novel approach for molecular analysis of the bacterial, fungal and archeal gut microbiota

In this short oral presentation we have described the use of DHPLC method for analysis of complex microbial populations and in particular microbial popualtions in the gut.
