COBISS.SI-ID: 27957543In this lecture, the project leader O. Vasiljeva presented an overview of importance of cysteine cathepsins and their inhibitors in tumor progression. Moreover, the development of targeted drug delivery systems could improve bio-availability and targeting of cysteine cathepsins inhibitors, this, resulting in the efficient inhibition of cysteine cathepsins and significant tumor size reduction. These data additionally support the role of cyteine cathepsins in tumor progression and, thus, their endogenous inhibitors as an important regulators of their activity.
