Dental zirconia ceramics

In this presentation, dental zirconia ceramics were elucidated from an engineering perspective, by considering the interrelationship between the composition, microstructure and the mechanical properties of yttria partially stabilized tetragonal zirconia (Y-TZP) ceramics, as well as the mechanisms and the kinetics of the reactions leading to a material’s degradation under thermal and mechanical cyclic loading in a chemically aggressive environment of the oral cavity.
