Double-sided cooling of heated slab : conjugate heat transfer DNS

Double-sided cooling of heated slab was analyzed with DNS method. Research was focused on thermal fluctuations that appear inside the heat source due to the cooling with turbulent flows.

1D two-fluid model simulations of flashing flows in TOPFLOW facility

TOPFLOW device (Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf) where a set of blow-down experiments were performed at pressures between 10 and 65 bar and the corresponding saturation temperatures. Depressurization, which was a consequence of the blow-off valve closure, was simulated with in-house 1D computer code WAHA and 1D system code TRACE. Critical mass flow rate is relevant also for the super-critical water reactors.

Chebyshev collocation benchmark for natural convection flow in differentially heated cavity

Natural convection is a crucial phenomenon for emergency cooling on liquid metal reactors. Research in this direction is being done as a support of a new project proposal for EU research program.
