Slovenian National Population Based Colorectal Cancer Screening Program – Program Svit

The aim of the Svit program is to reduce mortality due to colorectal cancer and to secure good quality of life of the successfully treated patients. Discovering disease in its early latent stages provides very good chances for complete recovery, detection of pre­malignant polyps can even prevent the progression to cancer.

Pharmacogenomics and evaluation of treatment with intermittent leukotrienes children with asthma

The project team member Prof Mitja Košnik, M.D. was a PhD mentor to Maja Skerbinjek Kavalar, M.D.. The PhD was successfully finished in October 2013. The purpose of this research was to establish whether intermittent treatment of mild asthma with LTRA in children and adolescents is an continuous treatment with LTRA.
