Analysis of nuclease activity in selected pathogenic bacteria of the genus Mycoplasma: graduation thesis

The project leade is actively involved in the teaching process at Biotechnical faculty. As a co-menthor she participated by diploma thesis project of biotechnology student Luka Bolha. He showed, that Mycoplasma bacteria have strong nuclease activity. This activity enables bacterial cell infection and invasion and also promotes the infection among cells. This it the first study to show this.

Characterization of monoclonal antibodies against avian flu virus H5N1: graduation thesis

In the scope of diploma thesis project, has a biotechnology student Janez Bernik prepared and characterized monoclonal antibodies against slovenian isolate of avian influenza H5N1 virus. These antibodies could be used for monitoring of infections with H5N1 virus in slovenian poultry (economic relevance). Project leader has participated as a co-menthor and has monitored the project progress.
