Advantages as well as drawbacks of plasma technologies for improved biocompatibility of vascular grafts made from PET were presented. The corresponding research was performed in close collaboration with the National blood transfusion centre.

Method for treatment of bio-medical prosthesis for improvement of anti-thrombogenic properties

Extensive research performed in the first year of this project resulted in development of a procedure for treatment of vascular grafts in order to improve bio-compatibility. The corresponding national patent was granted in 2010. We also submitted a PCT application.
