Plasma surface modification of vascular grafts

In this invited lecture we presented the state of the art as well as our own preliminary results on plasma modification of vascular grafts. Several renown sciencists attended this meeting including scientists from Rudjer Bošković Institute from Zagreb, who work on similar topics. The lecture attracted much attention and at the end of the year a collaboration agreement has been signed with this institute. The subject of agreement is collaboration in the growth of cells and tissues on plasma modified polymer substrates.

Surface modification of materials by extremely non-equilibrium oxygen plasma

The project leader gave an invited talk at this meeting. He introduced possibilities for treatment of various materials with highly non-equilibrium gaseous plasma with an emphasis on treatment of organic materials. He explained the advantages of plasma based technologies for modification of artificial blood vessels and stressed an important fact that only extremely non-equilibrium plasma allows for functionalization without degradation of vascular grafts.
