We evaluated the influence of septate, subseptate and arcuate uterus on pregnancy rates after embryo transfer (ET) in conventionally stimulated IVF/ICSI cycles. The women after hysteroscopic resection of uterine septum were compared to those without uterine anomalies. The number of embryos transferred, embryo quality and the absence of uterine anomalies significantly predicted the pregnancy rates; before surgery they were lower compared to controls. After surgery, the pregnancy rates were comparable between the groups. Uterine anomalies negatively influence the pregnancy rates IVF/ICSI.

We assessed reliability, comparability and efficiency of hysterosalpingo contrast sonography (HyCoSy) for tubal patency. The findings of HyCoSy, subsequent X-ray hysterosalpingography, laparoscopy with dye chromopertubation and occurrence of pregnancy were analyzed (42 women enrolled). The sensitivity and specificity of HyCoSy are slightly lower compared to standard techniques, but the procedure seems safer with no X-ray exposure on the ovaries, relatively cheap, can be done as office procedure. More than one third of patients conceived without further treatment and invasive procedures.
